Who Are The Community Equity Leadership Team and What Do They Do?

The Community Equity Leadership Team (CELT) is made up of committed parents, advocates, and community stakeholders who live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The team meets virtually with the Wake County Public School Systems Assistant Superintendent of the Office of Equity every third Wednesday at 6:30pm. The goal of CELT is to address issues of inequity.
The team works to ensure that every child in the district is guaranteed their rights to an impartial and equitable education and reach their fullest academic and social potential.
CELT has been actively involved in advocating for the passing of a Wake County Equity Policy to include a bullying component. Bullying is a major problem in every school system in America. Bullying has been proven to cause serious long-term mental health effects.
THE CELT CALL-TO-ACTION
To effectively address bullying we must first begin in the home. The call is for parents to be an example and work together to stop bullying.
